I hope you all had a wonderful summer. Don't forget school resumes on Tuesday, September 29. The Lower School teachers have been working hard to get everything ready, so we are all looking forward to seeing you and especially the children.
We will be having orientation for all Pre-Kindergarten, Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 students on Monday, August 28. All teachers will be in their classrooms from 8:30-10:30, so you can drop in and say hello. You should have received an email, which sent you to the Opening of School Information which told you all the times. Also new students in Grades 2-4 will have individual appointments to meet with their teachers. You will receive an email from me with a special time set up for you.
A reminder from the front office: if you have not yet turned in any required medical forms, please get those in ASAP. Please contact Heather Mehta (hmehta@roycemoreschool.org) with any questions.
Our hours of operation remain the same. School officially begins at 8:30 and ends at 3:15, except on Thursday, when it ends at 3:00. The building will be accessible to students daily from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. For their safety, please do not have students arrive at school prior to 7:30, as they will not be able to enter the building and there will be no supervision available. At 7:30, the Morning Room (EDP Room, G01) will open. It is located very close to the double yellow doors from the garage. It will be staffed by teachers. Please bring all Lower School children who come to school before 8:15 to that room as a safety measure. Thank you!
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT: Our After-School Enrichment activities for students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 will begin September 11. Information was attached to the email accompanying the blog to tell you all of the exciting opportunities we will be having for your children. The times for the enrichment will be 3:15-4:00/4:15 every day except Thursday when they will be at 3:00-3:50
ROYCEMORE GEAR: The Roycemore Family Association is sponsoring "Show Your School Spirit! Order Roycemore Swag" There is a lot of Roycemore gear at this website and the school receives a percentage of what you spend!

THE GARAGE: We are very lucky at Roycemore, and especially in Lower School to have a garage to pull into and bring in the children out of the elements. Therefore we ask you to follow a few simple rules so the garage can work for everyone. In Lower School, we welcome parents to bring their children into the building at drop-off and to pick them up in their classrooms at the end of the day. We ask that you think of the other parents and do not double park or park in spaces that are not identified as parking spaces. People, except on the first day, do not stay long, so please go around the garage until a space opens. On the first day, you might want to park on the street if the garage is full.
There will be a teacher at the yellow double doors to take your children out of the car, if you do not wish to come in. If all the spaces are full, and you do not want to wait, please exit the garage and park on the street.
At pick-up please park in the garage and come into the building. Again if there is not a space, please go around until one opens up. This usually is no more than five minutes. If you double park, the garage becomes clogged and everyone has difficulty. Thank you in advance for being considerate of everyone.
A REMINDER: Please remember that Roycemore Lower School is a nut/peanut-free environment. Please remember this when you send in birthday treats and snacks for your children. There are many other allergies, specific to individual children, so please check with your classroom teacher before sending in treats. Thank you in advance for caring about all of our children.
